I don’t know if I mentioned it but one of my co-workers has left the department due to some ugliness that occured during a staff meeting. It was one of those confidence boosting games that managers love to play so much, but someone took the opportunity to pass along a little negativity and hurt her annonymously so she’s moved out of the department and away from whom ever the negative nelly is.
What this means for me is that I now am one of the two co-workers available for full time hours (meaning opening to closing, 7 days a week, well mostly) and this means that now that she’s off the schedule I’ve gone from earning roughly between 14 and 20 hours a week, to over 30. Woo.
Although I’m not sure if I want to work all those hours. I’d like to do some stuff with my kids, you know?
Speaking of kids, Sean is actually reading a book. I’m stunned. There wasn’t any dire threats of grounding or being banned from computer games, etc. unless he opens a book and reads for at least an hour. Instead he just sat down and read.
Ceilidh has decided to start reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher/Sorcerer’s Stone, she’s looking forward to reading the following books as soon as possible. She decided to start at the beginning because it’s more her reading level and she figures that as she makes her way though the books her skill will increase as the books get harder.
She is so cute, she couldn’t wait to read the book and started to read it in the car, and we had to push her out the door to get her to go swimming. We told her she can read the book later when it’s too late to do anything else.
