Meet the newest addition to the Katastrophe Household, Mal.

His name is Latin for bad.

These pictures were taken as he was falling asleep for the night, he’d been playing and playing all day and he’d worn himself out.  He’s adorable.

Of course everyone wonders why in the name of all that is holy, I’d bring a Shepherd Mix (we were told most likely a Husky) into this house, when the Husky we already have is shedding enough fur to make an entirely new dog.  But I figure adding another 20 pounds of fur on top of what Skye is already shedding is going to be sort of like having a second child when your first one is still in diapers.  Everyone is amazed that you’d be that kind of crazy, but really in the long run it isn’t all that much harder.
I have to say that the level of puppy playfulness in this house has gone up a gazillion times.  Skye is not only playing with Mal, but she’s doing a lot of the initiating.  I’ve never seen her play with other dogs this way.  Even when she was a pup, we’d take her to the dog park and she’d be more interested in running than playing with the doggies there.
So if you’re into doggy training tips and hearing all about how things are going with the little pee machine, you’re not going to want to miss an entry.  If you hate hearing about those things, then I guess you won’t be dropping by as often.
